How Do You Break The Ice?

Everyone reading this forum is a true believer in crypto. Unfortunately, the media portrays crypto as a haven for scam artists and Ponzi schemes. We all know not to believe the mainstream media when it comes to the future of crypto. My question is this:
When you are speaking with an intelligent person who thinks crypto is all about speculating on the price of BTC, or perhaps that crypto is a bubble which is doomed to explode, how do you get past that? How do you evangelize to a non believer?

wow great point. I can say that I've lived in this world for 15 years as an "FX" guy and so I'm used to the strange questions and accusations and various misunderstandings.. For Bitcoin I use the analogy that also US Dollars are created electronically by no real means (as the Fed decides) and that money doesn't exist. I would focus not on Bitcoin but that there are 1500 cryptos some of them good some not. Just like with stocks - there are frauds, Enrons, ponzis, that doesn't mean all stocks are bad. Use logic! it will take time - be patient. I think converting someone takes hours, can't be done in 5 minutes. good thought!

I was in a conversation with a few skeptics. One of them was a touch less skeptical than the others. After about 15 minutes, he started rebutting the other skeptics and in the process of talking it through, he convinced himself of the future of crypto. It was fun to watch.
