Venezuelan State Cryptocurrency Petro is Now for Sale for Fiat, Crypto

Total News – Atlanta, GA 10/31/2018. Petro, Venezuela's state-owned cryptocurrency, is now available for trading. The announcement was made by Vicepresidencia de Economia through a tweet.

According to the tweet, the coin is now available for sale to buyers which can be purchased for fiat money, specifically yuan, Euro, US Dollars and a number of cryptocurrencies. The official website shows that users can buy Petros with Bitcoins and Litecoins with no mention of it being available to trade with fiat.

The national government has authorized 6 cryptocurrency exchange to trade Petro. The exchanges include Afx Trade, Amberes Coin, Bancar, Cave Blockchain, Criptolago, and Cryptia.

Originally, Petro is said to be back by physical supplies of Venezuelan crude.
